MEMORIAL PAGE – NYSP Trooper Richard T. Juna (1970)

Trooper Richard T. Juna, age 43, was killed in a traffic crash on February 8, 1970.

Trooper Juna’s death was caused by a drunken driver who crossed into the wrong lane of travel on Route 7 in Otego, near Oneonta, New York.

Trooper Juna was ejected from his vehicle and died of multiple injuries.

He joined the Division of State Police on July 1, 1953, and had been assigned to serve Troop C Stations and Troop T during his 16-years of service. He was stationed at Sidney at the time of his death.
