The Cartersville Police Department has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of Officer Sarah Beth Barnes, aged 32, who passed away in Dallas, Georgia, as a result of a tragic, off-duty motor vehicle crash, which occurred just before 5:30pm on January 30th, 2020.

Deputy Sheldon Gordon Whiteman

Deputy Sheriff Sheldon Gordon Whiteman, of Long County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia, was killed in a crash while involved in a vehicle pursuit at approximately 3:00am, on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020.

Georgia State Police said the pursuit began in Ludowici when a Ludowici officer spotted a motorist running stop signs in the city. The officer began to pursue the driver [south eastwards] on Highway 57 in the direction of McIntosh County.

Memorial Page – Officer Paul Dunn (50), Lakeland, FL

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Paul Dunn, 50, of Lakeland Police, was killed in a one-vehicle crash on his police motorcycle.  This occurred about 5:45 a.m. this morning — January 9, 2020 — on Lakeland Highlands Road just south of Lake Miriam Drive.
